Role Overview

The Sales Administrator is responsible for managing customer orders from receipt through to delivery, ensuring accuracy in processing, clear communication with production, and high levels of customer service throughout the process. The role sits within our Engineering Department and acts as a key link between customers, engineering, planning, purchasing, production and despatch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and review customer purchase orders for accuracy and completeness and manage customer portals as required
  • Enter sales orders into ERP/MRP system
  • Verify pricing, lead times, part numbers, revisions, and quantities
  • Confirm order acknowledgements to customers
  • Maintain accurate order documentation and records
  • Act as a contact for order status updates, responding to customer queries regarding delivery schedules and documentation
  • Liaise with logistics to coordinate shipments and export documentation if required
  • Monitor order progress and communicate any delays
  • Manage amendments and updates to orders (schedule changes, quantity adjustments, revision updates)
  • Generate reports on order intake, backlog, and delivery performance

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a sales administration or order processing role, ideally from a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to prioritise workloads.
  • A customer focused, problem-solving mindset.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (preferred precision machining)
  • Strong ERP/MRP system experience
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with a team-oriented approach.
