Dawnlough is a progressive precision engineering company providing expertise in design and manufacture of specialist parts and equipment, for the aerospace and medical device industries. It has recently joined the Acrotec Group, an independent group of professionals specialised in micro-mechanics precision. We are looking to recruit an experienced mechanical design engineer, with at least 5 years’ experience in a high precision industry.
Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate has qualified in the relevant discipline and has gained significant design experience. You are highly motivated, dependable, and thorough, with a sharp eye for detail. You are experienced in communicating with customers, understanding, and translating their requirements through to a productive design plan, all within a planned schedule. You are comfortable working within a team environment, on collaborate design projects and a proven ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Degree in mechanical engineering, toolmaking, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical design: bespoke equipment design, such as precision tooling and machine design.
- High level knowledge and experience in SolidWorks. Experience in other 3D modelling packages will also be considered.
- Evidence of delivering design projects in a fast-paced environment on schedule.
Role & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work in the design department, and will be responsible for ensuring design projects are completed on schedule, exceeding customer expectations and company standards.
- Establish and agree scope of design with customer.
- Plan and schedule design milestones, to ensure agreed dates are met.
- Develop equipment design using SolidWorks and create detailed drawings.
- Ensure design meets all relevant standards and customer’s company policies.
- Communicate with all other departments with Dawnlough, as required.
- Liaise and manage work executed by sub-contractors as needed.
- Provide engineering support to other departments within Dawnlough.
