Your Role

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the design, implements, and optimisation of medical component manufacturing processes in a production environment. They will take responsibility to ensure processes are robust and remain compliant with any validations. They will improve manufacturing efficiency with a focus on ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently, cost-effectively, and meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing manufacturing process that are robust and validated
  • Establish and monitor metrics in terms of Quality and Efficiency
  • Support in processes to ensure they achieve their On-Time- Delivery targets
  • Ensuring enough resources are available to support the process
  • Ensure sufficient cross training is completed and documented
  • Establish dates for internal operations to monitor and ensure we meet customer delivery dates
  • Communicate order updates to Customer Account Manger
  • Action any production lates of customer part and implement action plan to avoid customers lates
  • Monitor and report on On-Time Delivery for your product lines
  • Monitor and report on Earned hours for your product lines
  • Support NPI with on-boarding of new parts and develop manufacturing implementation Gantt charts with milestones
  • Support job quotations if required, in terms of implementation issue, time and cost
  • Communication and keep the Production Manager informed of any concerns with jobs / parts.
  • Report on accurate production delivery date and any problems within the process
  • Support production with the ordering of consumables or equipment to improve the process
  • Other ad hoc projects and duties as required

Requirements for the Role

  • Strong Communication skills – with a positive attitude
  • Minimum of a Degree in Engineering
  • You will have experience working in a similar role within manufacturing
  • Knowledge and experience of working to ISO13485
  • Cleanroom experience is an advantage
  • Strong IT skills with good Excel skills and experience using MRP software packages.
  • Aptitude to learn, willingness to progress and ability to assume responsibility
  • Practical minded with a strong business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to liaise with senior management and provide leadership to the production team where you have responsibility for the process.
  • Track record for process improvement and team leadership
