Your Role
The General Operative will support the production team by performing a range of hands-on tasks to ensure the smooth, efficient, and high-quality output of precision-engineered components. This role is foundational to maintaining flow, cleanliness, and operational excellence within a high-spec, medtech-oriented manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor basic production and cleaning equipment as instructed
- Assist in loading/unloading CNC machines and handling materials or parts
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Support quality checks and flag non-conformances to the supervisor or QA team
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety protocols
- Move parts and tooling between departments (e.g., machining, inspection, packing)
- Assist with packaging, labelling, and preparing components for shipping
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and 5S/Lean activities
- Support preventive maintenance or downtime activities as needed
- Comply with ISO13485 and company-specific quality and regulatory systems
Requirements for The Role
Essential
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Good manual handling skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Proven ability to follow instructions, safety rules, and process documentation
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Strong communication and teamworking skills
Desirable
- Experience in medical device, aerospace, or CNC machining environments
- Familiarity with basic measuring tools (e.g., callipers, gauges)
- Forklift or manual handling certification
