Acrotec is an independent group specializing in precision micromechanics. We serve various industries and are organized into three distinct business divisions: Watchmaking jewellery, MedTech, and Precision High-Tech.

We are developing a new Financial Controller role for the Irish Manufacturing hub that will include two sites. The Acrotec sites in Ireland are Dawnlough Ltd. based in Galway and Takumi Precision Engineering Ltd. based in Limerick.

Dawnlough and Takumi are leading High Precision Engineering companies that have rapidly grown to become a major supplier to leading Aerospace and Medical Device companies around the world. Acrotec Group is one of the main players in the European Watchmaking and Medtech subcontracting market.

Your Role

Reporting directly to the CEO in the two Irish companies, you will be responsible for developing strong financial controlling and internal controls in this Irish hub. In addition, you will support the management team in the financial management of the companies.

The role will initial be based in Dawnlough in Galway but will develop into responsibility for the financial management of both companies and splitting of time accordingly between both sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for controlling and accounting: Manage cost accounting, management accounting, group reporting and play an active role in shaping our company’s financial future.
  • Strategic and operational controlling: Develop and optimise our controlling processes to achieve both operational efficiency and strategic goals.
  • Financial planning and budgeting: Lead the creation and monitoring of all financial planning, budgeting and liquidity management processes to ensure a sound financial basis.
  • Optimise cost accounting: Develop innovative approaches to cost centre, cost unit and activity-based costing to increase transparency and efficiency.
  • Close interaction with management: Report directly to the CEO’s and work closely with the Finance Group team to support strategic decisions.
  • Economic analyses and recommendations: Create sound business analyses and calculations that provide management with valuable suggestions for action.
  • Team leadership and development: Lead and develop our dedicated finance team to foster a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Payroll process and Revenue queries: To ensure payroll processes are robust and efficiently managed.
  • Monthly reporting: Responsible for overseeing end-of-month reporting to Acrotec Group.
  • Audits – Responsible for the management of all financial audits including year-end.

Requirements for the Role

  • Strong technical accounting skills ideally with group reporting experience.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with a minimum of 3 year’s PQE.
  • Several years of experience in a comparable position, ideally in a production company – your practical experience enables you to recognise challenges and develop solutions quickly.
  • Sound experience and knowledge of cost accounting – you have the necessary expertise to optimise our financial processes.
  • A strong and proactive personality with a hands-on mentality – you tackle challenges proactively and turn ideas into reality.
  • Enthusiasm for managing and developing employees – you inspire your team and encourage their potential to achieve success together.
  • Business fluent in English and desirable oral knowledge of French – your language skills will enable you to communicate effectively with the Group.
  • Strong IT skills with advanced Excel and experience using various accounting software packages.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to liaise effectively with senior management – effective communication to the wider management team is critical to the implementation of improvements
