Your Role

This is a full-time role for an experienced 3-Axis CNC Programmer / Machinist. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, operating and maintaining a 3-Axis CNC machines. The 3-Axis CNC Programmer / Machinist will also be responsible for adhering to health & safety requirements, quality control inspections and working in line with best manufacturing practices to ensure optimal machine performance

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within Dawnlough’s health and safety requirements
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Loading raw materials onto machines, along with selecting appropriate work/tool holdings
  • Generate CNC programmes to produce precision components with volumes varying from one-off instances to mass-production
  • Capable of selecting optimal tool paths and machining strategies
  • Achieve production targets and output requirements
  • Communicate and contribute as part of a team
  • Carry out required preventative machine maintenance
  • Carry out quality inspection on finished components to ensure quality standards are adhered to

Requirements for The Role

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a CNC programmer / machinist in a high-precision production environment
  • Proficient in CAM software, preferably SolidCam, and familiarity with Hurco machines
  • Knowledge and understanding of GD&T
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly developed technical and analytical skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and independently when required, in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience machining various materials such as stainless steel, aluminium and medical grade plastics
  • High competency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and CAD
